Factors Influencing FOC:

Arrow Stability:

• Higher FOC (closer to 15%): Improves arrow stability in flight and is better for long-range shots or wind resistance.
• Lower FOC (closer to 8%): Provides faster arrow speeds and a flatter trajectory, which is often advantageous in 3D archery.

Bow Setup:

• Compound bows generally benefit from a moderate FOC (10–12%) to balance speed and stability.
• Recurve or traditional setups might work better with a slightly higher FOC (12–15%) due to the slower arrow speeds.

Arrow Weight:

• Heavier arrows tend to maintain stability at lower FOC values.
• Lighter arrows might benefit from a higher FOC for increased stability.

Shooting Distance:

• For shorter distances (under 30 yards), a lower FOC may perform better.
• For longer distances, a higher FOC is generally more reliable.
