FoC v2: Front of Center Estimator

This is estimation based on values/weights provided. Need to test this with actual physical components to determine accuracy.

Add option to write to either offline or local database and offer field to name the arrow and give more details. Could also offer the opiton to enter number of vanes and each vane's weight.

Standard wraps @ 5″ x 1″ weighed 6.6 grains which works out to 1.32 grains per inch. Standard Wraps with Laminate Armor @ 5″ x 1″ weighed 12.6 grains total for a 2.52 grains per inch.
This is important in determining the balance point

Notes

  • Balance point = nock throat to bp
  • length = carbon to carbon
  • elec tape to simulate vanes
    21.7g = 12-1/2" 3 AAE are 21.9 total
  • FOC Formula
    FOC = (100 * (B-A/2)) / A
    A = length of shaft from the throat to front w/o point
    B = distance from throat to balance point
  • Optimal FOC Range:
    • Target
      For Target Archery, an optimal F.O.C. range is 7 -15% indoors and 10-15% outdoors for up to 100 yards.
    • Bow Hunting
      For Bow Hunting, an optimal F.O.C. Range is 10 -15%.
  • Easton website says:
    • Enter Arrow Length (A)(Required)
      This is the overall length of the arrow measured from the throat of the nock to the end of the shaft. (not including the point)
    • Enter Balance Point Length (B)(Required)
      Find the balance point. This is where the arrow balances perfectly. Mark the point, and measure from the throat of the nock.
